Yaya guesthouse

The rooms at Yaya guesthouse range from a 25 m² double room with a fan to a 60 m² room with four bunk beds. Every room has linens, a mirror and a clothes rack, and guests share the bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the views are over the city or the garden, depending on the room.

Rooms with a city view and rooms with a garden view both have air conditioning, except the 25 m² double room, which has a fan. Some rooms offer a choice of bed set-ups, and the 32 m² room sleeps up to four guests.

The garden and the shared lounge with a flat-screen TV are the main shared spaces, where guests can relax on the sofas. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and WiFi also works in public areas. The property has an elevator, lockers, luggage storage and safety deposit boxes.

For meals there is a coffee shop, a restaurant, a BBQ area and a vending machine. Tours, ticket services, a concierge, laundry service and dry cleaning are also available.

The garden is a quiet place to sit between sightseeing trips, and the shared lounge has a large flat-screen TV for the evening. On-site parking is available, and English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Thai are spoken at the guesthouse.

Yaya guesthouse sits on Soi Pramot, a side street in Silom, the central business district of Bangkok. By day the area is busy with offices and shops, and the streets nearby have food stalls and small restaurants. Quieter sois branch off the main roads, and the neighbourhood is comfortable to explore on foot. Several tailors and fashion shops are on the streets right around the guesthouse, and the Silom side streets hold more of them.

The Surasak BTS Station is 750 m away, on the Silom Line, which connects the district with other parts of the city. Oriental Pier, 850 m away, is the stop for riverboats on the Chao Phraya. Across the river, Wat Arun is 4 km from the guesthouse, and the Jim Thompson House, a teak museum of Thai silk and art, is 2.7 km away.

A good day could start at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, then cross to Wat Arun and return to Silom by river boat. Afterwards, the nearby Soi Prachum Market and the Bangkokian Museum are a short walk away. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is a separate trip for another day. Taxis are easy to find on the main roads of Silom.
