The Bird Nest Homestay & Coffeeshop

All the rooms at The Bird Nest Homestay & Coffeeshop have air conditioning. The rooms run from a room for up to three guests to a bunk bed set-up for up to eight, and a bunk bed in a mixed dormitory for one.

The bunk-bed rooms share a bathroom, which is stocked with toiletries. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

It is a quieter setting than the busy shopping districts of the city, and life here runs along the waterways rather than on crowded malls. The neighbourhood has an easy, local rhythm, with small shops and food stalls on the lanes near the homestay, and the Bang Kachao canals are only a short distance from the homestay.

Bang Kachao, a green peninsula of orchards and canal paths, lies 1.7 km away, and the Bang Nam Pueng Floating Market is 1.5 km away. Smaller sights are scattered around the neighbourhood, including Wat Bang Kobua, a pagoda, and the Siam Fighting Fish Gallery, a museum devoted to the Siamese fighting fish.

The On Nut BTS Station is 2.7 km from the homestay, a train link into central Bangkok, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 18.4 km away. A good day could start on the canal paths of Bang Kachao, then head into central Bangkok to see the riverside temples, such as Wat Arun, on the Chao Phraya river, whose tall central prang is visible from across the water, and the Grand Palace.
