Woodlands Inn

The rooms at Woodlands Inn include single, double, twin and triple rooms, with capacity going up to four guests. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and non-smoking rooms are offered.

Woodlands Inn stands on Charoen Krung Road in the Bangkok Riverside area, one of the oldest roads in Bangkok and a long stretch that runs between the old commercial lanes and the Chao Phraya River. The street has a long history of trade and shipping, and many of its buildings reflect that. Old shophouses, warehouses and churches sit alongside the traffic of a busy main road, and the area suits anyone who wants to see a quieter, older side of Bangkok.

Haroon Mosque is a short walk away, and Assumption Cathedral is 600 m from the inn. Si Phraya Pier is 300 m away for river boats on the Chao Phraya, and Charoen Nakhon BTS station is 700 m away for the Skytrain. The Grand Palace is 3.5 km away, and the Talad Noi Museum lies 850 m away in the older Talat Noi streets.

A day could start at Si Phraya Pier with a river boat along the Chao Phraya, then continue on foot through the lanes around the mosque and the old churches of the neighbourhood. In the evening, Asiatique, The Riverfront, is a riverside complex of shops and restaurants that makes a good place to finish the day. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is further out and is best planned as a separate trip.
