Big Buddha, 6.4 km away, is a large seated Buddha statue and one of the island's best-known landmarks. Wat Plai Laem, a temple on the lake farther along the coast, has a large statue of Guanyin.

Samui Airport is 6.5 km away, so flights to the island are the simplest way in for most travellers. The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui is 250 m away, one of the nearest attractions. For a day out, combine the beach and Big Buddha with an evening at Fisherman's Village, then head to Central Festival Samui for shopping before the return trip to the villa.
