Location & what to see
Ramkhamhaeng is a broad, mostly residential district on the eastern side of Bangkok, where wide roads lead off into smaller soi lined with houses, shops and sports grounds. The Travellers House sits on a side soi of Soi Nakkila Laemthong, so the neighbourhood is ordinary local Bangkok rather than the tourist core. Ramkhamhaeng University, one of the large public universities in Bangkok, is also in the district.
Ban Thap Chang station on the Airport Rail Link is 1.7 km away, and the line runs to Phaya Thai in central Bangkok and to Suvarnabhumi Airport, 8.7 km away, so both trips are straightforward. Hua Mak Health Park is 700 m away, a public park for a morning walk, and Wat Lat Bua Khao, a Buddhist pagoda, is 1.1 km away.
A day could start at the Chatuchak Weekend Market, 16.9 km away and one of the largest markets in the city, and finish back in the neighbourhood with a walk around the local soi and the park. The old city temples are a longer trip away, so this is a base for seeing everyday Bangkok. For a slower day, the park and the nearby temples fill an afternoon without a long journey.
What guests say
Travellers rate the cleanliness and the service most highly, both at 9.1, and the overall score is 8.7 for this small guesthouse.
