The Old Palace Resort

The rooms at The Old Palace Resort measure from 16 to 25 m² and offer single, double and queen beds in different combinations, for couples as well as for larger groups. Several rooms look out over the garden, some have a balcony or terrace, and others have a separate living room or a private entrance.

Air conditioning, a refrigerator and a mini bar are offered in some rooms, while a shower, a TV, a window or a desk depends on the room. Several rooms sleep up to three guests, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms across the resort.

The Historic City of Ayutthaya, the old core of the city, is full of temple ruins, chedis and palace grounds, and the resort is a practical base for exploring it on foot or by bicycle. The old city is spread across several sites, so most visitors plan their days around a few temples at a time, with the resort as a base between visits.

Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the royal temple within the old palace grounds, is 850 m from the resort, and Wat Mahathat, known for its Buddha head entwined in tree roots, is 1.1 km away. Further out, Wat Chaiwatthanaram stands on the bank of the Chao Phraya river, 3 km from the property, and Ayutthaya Train Station is 2.6 km away for connections to Bangkok.

A good day can begin with the temples near the resort and move on to the Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village, which offers a lively contrast to the ruins. Bicycle rental and tours are available at the resort for covering the longer distances.
