The House Hostel 2

Rooms at The House Hostel 2 run from doubles and deluxe rooms to triple and family rooms, sleeping from two to four guests. Beds vary from room to room: a family room has two single beds and a king bed, a triple room has a double bed and a queen bed, and other rooms have a queen bed, a double bed or a king bed. Several rooms have shared bathrooms, and the Deluxe Room has a private bathroom with a shower.

Air conditioning, towels, linens and toiletries feature in several of the rooms, and city views are part of the Double Room with Shared Toilet and the family room. Groups of three or four can book the family room, which measures 40 m² and sleeps up to four guests.

Guests at The House Hostel 2 can use luggage storage, lockers and safety deposit boxes for their valuables. The hostel offers express check-in and check-out as well as private check-in and check-out, and daily housekeeping is provided.

On the food side, the hostel has a coffee shop and room service, and food delivery is also offered, so meals can be ordered without going out.

English and Thai are spoken, a doctor or nurse is on call, and there is 24-hour security.

The House Hostel 2 sits in Bangkok's Khaosan area, in the old town of Phra Nakhon district, where guesthouses and street-food stalls line the streets around the hostel. Khao San Road, the backpacker street in the area, is 250 m away. The Chao Phraya river is close as well, and the old city's temples and palaces are a short ride away along its banks.

Within a short ride are the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) and the Grand Palace, 1.4 km from the hostel. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, stands on the far bank of the Chao Phraya, and the Bangkok National Museum, with its collection of Thai art and history, is nearby. For longer trips, Sam Yot MRT Station is close by, Don Mueang International Airport is 20.5 km away and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 28.5 km away.

A good plan for a day is to begin at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, cross to Wat Arun on the far bank of the river, and return to Khao San Road in the evening. For a weekend outing, Chatuchak Weekend Market, 7 km away, is one of the largest weekend markets in the city, and it makes a full day out.
