PIER 808 Hostel

The rooms at PIER 808 Hostel range from female-only and mixed dormitories with bunk beds to private rooms with a queen bed, a king bed or two single beds. Air conditioning is standard in all the rooms, and some private rooms have their own bathroom while others share one.

Some rooms have a river view, and the 22 m² junior suite sleeps up to three guests with a choice of bed set-ups. The double room has a queen bed for two guests, and the 13 m² twin room has two single beds. Each dormitory bed is a bunk bed for one guest, and some bathrooms are shared with other guests.

After check-out, the luggage storage lets you keep your bags while you go sightseeing, and lockers and a concierge are also available. A laundromat and a laundry service are on site, and daily housekeeping is provided.

The building has a lift, a terrace, a rooftop area and a shared lounge and TV area, with 24-hour security in place. Air conditioning is in the public areas as well as the rooms, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and in the public areas.

The property is smoke-free, with non-smoking rooms, and English and Thai are spoken at the hostel. Rooms come with linens, slippers and toiletries, and some rooms are accessible by lift.

PIER 808 Hostel is on Song Wat Road in Bangkok's Riverside area, close to the Chao Phraya river and the Chinatown district. The streets around it mix old shophouses, temples and small food stalls, and the river is close at hand, with boats leaving from Rajchawongse Pier. The Yaowarat Chinatown Heritage Center, which covers the history of the district, is also nearby.

The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) are 1.9 km away, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street lined with guesthouses and street stalls, is 2.4 km away. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, sits on the opposite bank of the river, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, the temple of the reclining Buddha, is also nearby. For the metro, Wat Mangkon MRT Station is 700 m away.

A day of sightseeing can start with a boat from Rajchawongse Pier, 50 m from the hostel, and end at Asiatique - The Riverfront, a riverside shopping and night-market complex 3.8 km away. Wat Pho, Wat Arun and the Grand Palace are close to each other, so the morning can be spent among the temples and the afternoon along the river. An afternoon walk through the Chinatown streets makes a full day in the area.
