The Glory Hostel

The Glory Hostel rents out the Dormitory, a 32 m² room with a city view, air conditioning and one bunk bed. It sleeps one guest, and the bathroom is shared with other guests.

The Glory Hostel is in the Khaosan area of Banglamphu, one of the older districts of Bangkok, and Khaosan Road is 550 m away. The streets around it are busy with food stalls, small shops and guesthouses, and the district holds a number of older temples and museums, including Wat Mai Amatarot and the Pipit Banglamphu History Museum. The Bangkok Metropolitan Museum and Wat Sangwet Witsayaram are also close to the hostel, and the streets in between are where most of the everyday life of the district takes place.

The Grand Palace is 1.7 km away, and its complex houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, one of the most sacred temples in the country. Across the river, Wat Arun is 2.5 km away, with its famous spire rising above the Chao Phraya. Ferry piers at Phra Arthit and Thewet are close by, so boats along the Chao Phraya are an option and the river is a practical way to move between the temples and the old city.

A good day could start early at the Grand Palace, continue to Wat Arun across the river and end with a walk back along Khaosan Road. For a weekend morning, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is 6.7 km away and sells clothing, crafts and food. Suvarnabhumi Airport is 28.3 km away, so the airport is a longer trip from the hostel than the temples are.
