The Cocoon Hostel

All the rooms at The Cocoon Hostel are bunk-bed dormitories, in mixed and female-only versions, and they measure between 19 and 24 m². Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and air conditioning is fitted in most of them. Some rooms overlook the city.

Several rooms have a shared bathroom with a shower and toiletries, and towels and a hair dryer are provided in some of them. Reading lights and a streaming service like Netflix are available in some rooms as well. Each of those bathrooms is shared with other guests. In one of the female-only dormitories, soundproofing and an in-room safe box are included.

The Cocoon Hostel has a shared lounge and TV area, a game room, a salon, shops and a terrace, along with tours, a taxi service, luggage storage, lockers and safety deposit boxes. Daily housekeeping, dry cleaning and express check-in and check-out are also available, and the hostel has a salon on site.

For eating, there is a shared kitchen, BBQ facilities, a halal restaurant and a food delivery service. The hostel also has a DVD and CD player, a laptop workspace and a streaming service like Netflix, and the public areas have Wi-Fi too. Languages spoken on site include English, Chinese (Mandarin) and Thai, and air conditioning is fitted in the public areas.

The Cocoon Hostel is on Phetchaburi Road in Pratunam, a busy commercial district in central Bangkok known for its clothing shops, malls and street food stalls. The streets around the hostel are lively through the day, with mall complexes and small shops close by, and a convenience store and an ATM are both nearby.

Phaya Thai Train Station is 500 m from the hostel, and the Airport Rail Link also stops at Phaya Thai, with trains to Suvarnabhumi Airport, 24.1 km away. Don Mueang International Airport, 19.3 km away, is the nearest airport. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre with an aquarium called Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World, is 650 m away, and Jim Thompson House, a museum in the former home of Jim Thompson, the American silk entrepreneur, is 900 m away. Wat Pathum Wanaram Ratchaworawihan, a Buddhist temple near the Siam shopping area, is also close by.

A day in the old city could start at The Grand Palace, the royal palace complex, and continue to Wat Arun on the other side of the Chao Phraya river. Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large market with stalls for clothes, food and crafts, is another well-known day out from Bangkok's central districts.
