Every room at Thai Life Guesthouse Khaolak has a mountain view and air conditioning, along with a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and toiletries. Rooms measure between 20 and 45 m², and sleep up to four guests.

Khao Lak is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Phangnga province, with the forested hills of Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park rising behind the shoreline. Thai Life Guesthouse Khaolak is in the Bang Niang area, a neighbourhood of shops, markets and guesthouses set back from the sand. Khao Lak is best known for its beaches and its national park, and the pace is relaxed.

The Bang Niang Market and the International Tsunami Museum are close by, and the museum covers the tsunami that struck this coast in 2004. Bang Niang Beach is about 820 m away, and Khuk Khak Beach is a little further along at about 1.5 km. Khao Lak Bus Station is about 2.4 km away, and a car or taxi is the easiest way to reach the wider area.

A good day out is a walk through Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, where forest trails lead to waterfalls such as Ton Chong Fa, about 4.1 km from the guesthouse. Similan National Park is about 10.5 km away, and boat trips to the Similan Islands run only in the dry season, when the sea is calm. Back in the Bang Niang area, the Tsunami Museum gives a clear picture of the 2004 disaster and of the rebuilding of the coast that followed.
