Air conditioning and a private entrance come with every room at Baan Rim Tarn B&B, and the rooms can have private bathrooms with toiletries and towels. The rooms range from a 150 m² Superior Villa for up to four guests, with a choice of bed set-ups, to 60 m² bungalows that sleep up to three.

Khao Lak is known as a departure point for diving trips and for boats to the Similan Islands, and Phangnga province is known for limestone hills rising from the sea, a landscape usually seen from a boat. The surroundings here are green and residential, with village houses and gardens, and the area works well for trips to the coast and the national parks.

Takua Pa Old Town is 7.4 km away, and Phra Narai Park is 2.5 km from the guesthouse. Takua Pa is a market town with a long history, and its old streets are a good place to see local life. Nam Kem Beach lies 7.5 km away, and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 30.4 km away, has forest trails. Ban Nam Khem Pier, a coastal ferry terminal, is also close by.

A day could begin with a walk in Takua Pa Old Town and continue to Nam Kem Beach for the afternoon. Local food markets such as Larn Long are close by for fresh produce and snacks. Similan National Park, 36.2 km away, can only be reached by boat, so it makes a separate day trip from the coast.
