SUSU khaosan hostel

The rooms at SUSU khaosan hostel are mostly dormitory rooms for one to three guests, and several have a city or street view. Rooms with a private bathroom have a separate shower/bathtub, and some also have a walk-in shower and toiletries. A few rooms have a radio, a TV or a reading light, and board games and puzzles are available in several of them.

Several rooms have a computer, a DVD/CD player and wired internet, and some have an electric kettle and a hair dryer. Shared spaces include a lounge and TV area, a library and a garden, where guests can relax.

Soi Kraisi sits in the Khaosan area of Banglamphu, a historic district of old Bangkok, and the Khaosan Road strip is 250 m away. The street is known for its guesthouses, street-food stalls and small shops, and it stays busy into the evening. Norrarat Market, a small local market, is also nearby. The area is popular with travellers who prefer to stay among the sights rather than in the business districts.

The sights are close by, on foot or with a short taxi ride. The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) are about 1.4 km away, and Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall spire, is 2.2 km away across the Chao Phraya river. Several smaller temples, including Wat Bowon Niwet Ratchaworawihan, sit nearby, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the city's largest weekend markets, is 6.9 km away. Each of these sights offers a different side of the city, from royal architecture to riverside temples and a large market.

A good day can start at the Grand Palace, continue with a boat crossing to Wat Arun, and end with dinner on Khaosan Road. Back at the hostel, the garden and the shared lounge offer a quieter place to relax after a day of sightseeing.
