Stingy Hostel

The rooms at Stingy Hostel are dormitory-style, with bunk beds in single-guest rooms of 10 m² and shared dormitories for two or three guests. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the hostel has women-only and men-only dormitories.

The surroundings are a busy mix of office buildings, apartment blocks and street-food stalls. The BTS Sukhumvit line runs above the main road, and the nearest station is Phrom Phong. It is a central base for travellers who want to be close to the BTS network rather than in the old city.

Phrom Phong BTS station is 250 m away, and the Sukhumvit line from there runs to Siam and Chit Lom. Benchasiri Park is 400 m away, a neighbourhood park close to the hostel. Jim Thompson House, the former home of the American silk entrepreneur, is 5.1 km away and displays a collection of Thai art and antiques.

The historic sights make the best full-day outing from here: the Grand Palace is 8.9 km away, with Wat Arun across the river from it. The Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large weekend market in the north of the city, is a separate outing for a weekend morning. Suvarnabhumi Airport is 19.9 km away, and it is the airport most visitors use for flights into the city.
