Taksin Pier, 500 m away, is a ferry terminal on the Chao Phraya, and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is 3.3 km away. The Grand Palace, in the historic Rattanakosin district across the river, is 3.8 km away, and reaching it by boat or road takes a while from the hostel.

A good day could begin with a boat ride along the Chao Phraya to the temples and palaces of Rattanakosin, then head to Asiatique - The Riverfront, a shopping and dining complex on the river, before returning by rail. Wat Arun and The Grand Palace can be visited on the same outing, and the nearby stations give a way back to the hostel.
