Sawasdee Khaosan Inn

The rooms at Sawasdee Khaosan Inn include a 12 m² single room, a 16 m² standard double or twin room and an 18 m² superior double or twin room, and all three have a city view. The two double or twin rooms offer a choice of bed set-ups. The Superior Premier has a double bed, and the hotel also has rooms for up to three guests.

Air conditioning is available in several of the rooms. The 18 m² room has a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries, a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator and an alarm clock. The 12 m² single room has one single bed for one guest.

The inn is close to the road, so the bars and the street's night-time life are near at hand, while the quieter lanes of the old city begin a few streets away. Travellers who come for the sights and the evening atmosphere can find both in one area.

The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is 950 m away, and the Grand Palace, which contains the temple, is 1.1 km from the hotel. Wat Arun stands on the far bank of the Chao Phraya river, 1.9 km away, and is reached by ferry. The Phra Arthit pier is nearby for river boats, and the Sam Yot MRT station, 1.5 km away, links the area with the rest of the city.

A full day could begin at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, continue across the river to Wat Arun, and end with dinner on Khaosan Road itself. For a bigger outing, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is 7.2 km away and is a good choice for a weekend morning. The two airports lie on the outer edges of the city.
