The Jim Thompson House museum, a collection of traditional Thai houses set around a garden, is also in the area. Suvarnabhumi Airport, the main international airport, lies 19.7 km away.

A day here could start with a walk in Benchasiri Park, continue by skytrain into the city centre, and end with a visit to the Grand Palace or to Wat Arun on the river. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is worth saving for a weekend, when its clothes, crafts and food stalls are open in full.
