Risa Hostel

Every room at Risa Hostel has air conditioning. The two dormitory rooms, each measuring 35 m², are for women only and have bunk beds and a shared bathroom, with toiletries and towels provided for guests in the shared facilities.

The third room is allocated when you arrive and can take up to three guests; it has a closet and ironing facilities. Guests in the dormitories also share the kitchen and the lounge, which keeps the day-to-day routine simple for travellers arriving from the airport.

Guests can use a shared kitchen with a refrigerator, stove and microwave, along with essential condiments and dishes and dining utensils. There is also a coffee shop, and the shared lounge and TV area has board games, so the common spaces offer something to do between excursions.

Luggage storage, a laundromat nearby and a convenience store are available, and 24-hour security covers the property. The public areas are air-conditioned, and the property offers soundproof rooms for guests who want a quieter night.

Free parking is available, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and in the public areas, so guests can plan their days from the room or the lounge.

Risa Hostel sits in the Bang Wa area of Thonburi, on the western bank of the Chao Phraya river, a residential district of canals and local markets. Travellers who want to see the historic sights without staying in the busiest tourist streets will find the area practical, with quieter streets to walk and a slower pace in the evenings.

The Bang Wa BTS station is 450 m from the guesthouse, and the Bang Wa MRT station is close by, which connects the area with the rest of the city by train and subway. Wat Arun, a riverside temple with a tall central prang, is 3.8 km away, and the Grand Palace is 4.5 km away. Khaosan Road, with its guesthouses and street stalls, is one of the better-known streets nearby. Suvarnabhumi Airport is 31.6 km away.

A day could start at the Floating Market Khlong Bang Luang, 800 m away, and continue to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace. Back at the guesthouse, the shared lounge and the coffee shop offer a quiet place to plan the next day, and the Khlong Bang Luang area is a good starting point for a relaxed morning on the canals before the city traffic builds up.
