Rich8 Hostel

Rich8 Hostel offers dormitory rooms with bunk beds, and rooms with a king bed, two single beds or a single bed. The rooms come with hair dryers, toiletries, towels and reading lights.

Dormitories and the Single Room share a bathroom. The Budget Double Room and the Twin Room with Private Bathroom have a private bathroom. Some rooms have air conditioning and blackout curtains, and the Twin Room with Private Bathroom has a city view.

The hostel has a shared lounge and TV area with satellite or cable channels, and an elevator. Air conditioning is in the public areas, and guests can use lockers, luggage storage and express check-in and check-out.

A 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, a laundromat and a convenience store are on hand, and parking nearby is available. Tours can be arranged, and there is an airport transfer as well as a shuttle service. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the rooms can have blackout curtains, linens, a reading light, a hair dryer and a walk-in shower. The shared kitchen and the snack bar are also on the premises, and the rooms can have a seating area and a clothes rack.

Khaosan is the backpacker district of Bangkok's old city, where guesthouses, street-food stalls and small bars fill the lanes around Khaosan Road, 750 m from the hostel. The old city is compact, with palaces, temples and the Chao Phraya river close together, so many sights can be reached on foot or by short tuk-tuk rides. Evenings are lively, and the streets stay busy well into the night.

The Grand Palace is 1.9 km away, and it contains the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), one of the most sacred Buddhist temples in Thailand. Across the Chao Phraya river, Wat Arun is 2.6 km away and is known for its tall, tiered prang. The Jim Thompson House, a museum set in traditional teak houses, offers a calmer stop after the busy lanes. For a longer trip, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is 6.4 km away and draws crowds at the weekend.

A good day can start early at the Grand Palace and the temple beside it, continue across the river to Wat Arun, and finish with street food on Khaosan Road. The Jim Thompson House suits a slower afternoon, and the weekend market is better kept for a separate day out.
