PLOY Hostel

Accommodation at PLOY Hostel ranges from mixed and female dormitories with bunk beds to a Standard Queen Room with a double bed. Floor areas run from 9 to 48 m², and several rooms have a city view. The dormitories are mixed or female, so the room a guest books determines who shares it.

It is a practical base for travellers who want to be close to the historic sights rather than the business districts of the city centre. The small temples and a mosque in the lanes around the hostel make the surrounding streets easy to explore on foot.

Khao San Road, the district's best-known street, is 650 m away. The Grand Palace is 1.8 km from the hostel, and its complex includes the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall central prang, is 2.5 km away, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, better known as Wat Pho and home to a reclining Buddha, is also close. The Phra Sumen Fort stands on the bank of the Chao Phraya river.

A day could begin at the Grand Palace, continue to Wat Arun across the river and finish on Khao San Road. Jim Thompson House, a museum of Thai silk and art, is 3.2 km away and offers a different kind of afternoon. Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer journey across the city for weekend shoppers.
