Peony's Home

The rooms at Peony's Home sleep from two to six guests, and several have a city view or a garden view. Some rooms have a balcony, and some have an ensuite or private bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Rooms can have air conditioning, a refrigerator, a hair dryer, a desk and towels, and several rooms also have a flat-screen TV. A telephone is also available in several rooms, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

The hostel has a garden, a library, a massage service and a salon, plus a shared lounge/TV area where guests can gather. Guests can also book a massage or a visit to the salon. Daily housekeeping and luggage storage are also offered.

Peony's Home stands on Thanon Song Prapha in the Don Mueang area of Bangkok, a local district of temples, markets and small shops rather than the bustle of the city centre. Don Mueang International Airport, used by many budget airlines, is 1.4 km away, so the area is handy for anyone flying in or out of Bangkok.

Wat Don Muang Temple is 400 m away and Don Muang Railway Station 600 m away, both easy walks from the hostel. The Don Mueang New Market, 1.1 km away, is a local market for everyday shopping, and Lotus Supermarket is close by for groceries. Both the railway station and the temple make useful landmarks when you are looking for the hostel in the streets around it.

Chatuchak Weekend Market, 14.9 km away, is the big market for weekend shopping, with clothes, food and crafts. The Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and Wat Arun are a longer journey into the old city, while Khao San Road, the backpacker street, is also in the old city. A good day could start at Wat Don Muang Temple and continue into the old city for the royal temples and the riverside views. After a day out, the garden and the shared lounge are a relaxed place to return to.
