Peace Factory Hostel

Every room at Peace Factory Hostel has air conditioning, and the rooms run from a 10 m² dormitory bed to a 75 m² room for up to six guests with six bunk beds. The rooms vary in size and in the number of beds they sleep, from one guest to six.

Rooms with their own bathroom include a hair dryer, toiletries and towels, and a few rooms have blackout curtains and a private entrance. Several rooms have a street view, and the bathrooms come with a walk-in shower in most of them. The shared lounge/TV area and the library are common spaces for all guests.

The 24-hour front desk is open around the clock, and an airport transfer and a taxi service are offered. Free WiFi is available in all rooms, and there is a shared lounge/TV area as well as a lift.

Breakfast is served as buffet or continental, with a coffee shop and a vending machine on site. Tours can be arranged, and there is a laundry service, lockers, luggage storage and facilities for disabled guests. Shops include a gift/souvenir shop and a convenience store, and paid parking is available for guests arriving by car. A concierge and ticket services are also available, and there is a cash withdrawal service on site. Languages spoken include English and Thai.

Peace Factory Hostel is on Luang Road, on the edge of Bangkok's Chinatown, where narrow streets of shophouses, markets and temples sit close together. The surrounding streets are lively with street food and small shops, and the area suits those who want to be near the old city while staying in a local neighbourhood. Several small temples and shrines stand within a few hundred metres of the hostel.

Sam Yot MRT station is 550 m away, and the metro is a practical link to other parts of the city. The Grand Palace is 1.8 km away, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, the temple known as Wat Pho and home to a giant reclining Buddha, is 1.7 km away. Wat Arun, a temple on the bank of the Chao Phraya river, is 2.1 km from the hostel. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) sits inside the Grand Palace complex, so the two can be visited together.

A full day could start at Wat Pho and the Grand Palace, continue to Wat Arun by the river, and end on Khaosan Road, the backpacker street with bars and street food. The Jim Thompson House, a museum of traditional Thai teak houses, offers a quieter stop. Chatuchak Weekend Market, 7.2 km away, is a longer outing for a weekend.
