A good day in the area starts at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, followed by a short ferry across the river to Wat Arun. Santichaiprakan Park, a riverside park, is a quiet place to finish, and the Khaosan streets are close by for dinner. Between the temples and the river, the old quarter of Banglamphu is easy to explore on foot, with small lanes and street life running right through the area.
