New Siam II Guest House

The rooms at New Siam II Guest House are for two to four guests, with single, double, twin, triple and queen bed set-ups depending on the room. Most rooms have a city view and a private bathroom with a shower.

Most rooms come with an electric kettle, bathrobes, a hair dryer and toiletries, and some have satellite or cable channels. Rooms can also have air conditioning and a window, and the bed set-ups vary between rooms.

The area is a good place to explore on foot, since many of the city's best-known temples and palaces are close by, and the river runs along the edge of the old town. It is a practical area for a first visit to Bangkok, with older houses, small shrines and busy backpacker streets.

Khaosan Road is 500 m away, and Phra Arthit Pier, a riverside ferry stop, is 200 m. Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is 1.1 km away, and the Grand Palace is 1.3 km away. Wat Phra Chetuphon, home to the reclining Buddha, is also close by, and Wat Arun, the temple with its tall spire, stands across the river and is 2 km away.

A good first day could start at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, continue to Wat Pho for the reclining Buddha, and end with a ferry across to Wat Arun before returning to Khaosan Road in the evening. Phra Athit Road, with its cafés along the river, is a quieter alternative to Khaosan Road once the evening crowds arrive.
