Inland, Ton Chong Fa Waterfall is 4.1 km away, and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, a rainforest park, is close by. The Similan Islands, known for their diving, lie offshore, and Similan National Park is 10.6 km away.

A good day could start at the Tsunami Museum, continue with a stroll through Bang Niang Market and end with a swim at Bang Niang Beach. For a day in the hills, the waterfall and the national park are the natural next stop, and boat trips to the Similan Islands are a popular excursion from the coast.
