NapPark Hostel

The rooms at NapPark Hostel are mixed dormitories with bunk beds. Some look onto the city and others onto the garden, and several have air conditioning, blackout curtains and walk-in showers. Linens and towels are provided in a number of rooms, and a TV and board games are available in several.

Most rooms have a shared bathroom with toiletries, and a hair dryer is included in several. Room sizes run from 15 to 25 m², and reading lights, desks and fans are fitted in a number of rooms. Blackout curtains help with sleep in several of the rooms, and the shared bathroom has toiletries in most of them.

The shared areas at NapPark Hostel include a lounge with a TV, a game room, on-site entertainment, a garden and a terrace, along with a bar that has a happy hour.

For meals there is a shared kitchen, a snack bar and a breakfast takeaway service, and alternative meal arrangements can be made. Bicycle parking is provided on site, and bicycle rental is also offered, so a bicycle is one easy way to explore the area.

Practical services include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage and lockers, a laundry service and dry cleaning, a convenience store and cash withdrawal. Tours are offered, and a taxi service is available for getting around the city.

Tani Road sits in the Khaosan area of Bangkok, in the old Phra Nakhon district, where budget hostels, guesthouses and street-food stalls share the streets with older shophouses and temples. The area is lively in the evenings, and the hostel is a short walk from the lanes around Khao San Road. The Chakrapong Mosque is on the same streets as the hostel, and the Chao Por Khao Tok Shrine is a short distance away.

Wat Chana Songkhram and Wat Bowon Niwet Ratchaworawihan are within a few hundred metres, and the Bangkok National Museum, a large museum of Thai art and history, sits in the old city a short walk from the hostel. The Grand Palace is 1.4 km away, and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn on the far bank of the Chao Phraya, is 2.1 km away. The Phra Arthit ferry terminal is nearby for river boats.

Much of the old city can be reached on foot, but the airports are a longer trip: Don Mueang International Airport is 20.5 km away, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 28.4 km away. A good day here starts with a walk around Khao San Road and Wat Chana Songkhram, then a visit to the Grand Palace and a river boat across to Wat Arun.
