Moonstone

The two villas at Moonstone both have a sea view and a whirlpool bathtub, along with a private bathroom and an additional toilet. Their bed set-ups use king and futon beds, and the villas have six and five bedrooms, so they can host a large group of up to 16 guests.

Both villas include bathrobes, a hair dryer, toiletries, towels and an electric kettle, and guests can also use the outdoor swimming pool and the games room.

For dining there are restaurants, a poolside bar, a snack bar and room service, and guests can use BBQ facilities or a shared kitchen, so meals can be eaten in or prepared on site. Grocery delivery is also offered.

For downtime there is an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a yoga room, a game room with table tennis, and a playground for younger guests. Massage is offered, and there are a garden and a terrace.

Diving and snorkelling are offered, and tours are too. Practical services include daily housekeeping, laundry service, babysitting and a concierge, and English and Thai are spoken. There is an airport transfer, and free parking is available on site.

Choeng Mon is a residential part of Koh Samui near Bophut, where villas and small resorts are spread out and the pace is calmer than on the island's busiest beaches. Moonstone suits a large group that wants room to spread out, with its outdoor swimming pool and villas sleeping up to 16 guests, and it is a practical base for exploring the island's temples and villages.

Samrong Beach is the closest beach, 350 m from the property, and Big Buddha, a large Buddha statue on a hill, is 2.1 km away. Wat Plai Laem, a temple known for its large Guanyin statue, is nearby, and Fisherman's Village Bophut Walking Street, an old fishing village now lined with cafés and stalls, is 5.1 km away. Samui Airport is 4.5 km from the property.

A good day can start with Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem in the morning, then continue to Fisherman's Village in the late afternoon for a walk through the old streets. Koh Samui is an island, so boats to Koh Phangan and other islands leave from the piers on the coast. For a longer trip, Na Muang Waterfall and the Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks lie further along the island, and Lamai Beach, 13 km away, offers a different stretch of sand.
