Mont Place Donmuang

The rooms at Mont Place Donmuang range from a standard studio to twin and double rooms. Several of them have air conditioning, a city view or a private bathroom with a shower, and the daily housekeeping service keeps the rooms cleaned. Some rooms have a flat-screen TV, a kettle and a hair dryer, and the twin rooms come with either two single beds or two double beds.

The Basic Twin Room has two double beds and sleeps up to four guests. The Standard Studio is set up for one guest. Guests can use the shared lounge and TV area, which has a flat-screen TV. After a day out, the lounge gives guests a place to relax and plan the next day.

Mont Place Donmuang is in the Don Mueang district of Bangkok, a residential area well away from the old town and the river. The streets around it hold local markets, temples and low-rise buildings, and the district is home to the city's older airport, Don Mueang, which was Bangkok's main airport until Suvarnabhumi opened in 2006.

Don Mueang International Airport is 2 km away, and Don Mueang SRT Station, 1.3 km away, serves the commuter trains into the city, and Don Mueang New Market sits close to the station with everyday shops and stalls. Kosum Ruam Chai Market and the Wat Thep Nimit pagoda are in the streets close by, and the Sethasiri Backyard garden is nearby too. For a larger market, Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest weekend markets in Bangkok, is 13.5 km away.

A day out could take in the Grand Palace, 21 km from the guesthouse, and Wat Arun, with its tall spire on the Chao Phraya riverside. Both sights stand on or near the river, so the city's temples make a full day with a riverside walk. For an evening, Khao San Road in Banglamphu is the backpacker street, and Asiatique, a riverfront night market complex by the Chao Phraya, is also an evening destination.
