Mile Map Hostel

The rooms at Mile Map Hostel range from shared dormitories to rooms with a double bed, and each one sleeps between one and four guests. Sizes run from 8 m² to 25 m², with bunk beds in the dormitories. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

There is a mixed dormitory as well as a dormitory reserved for women, and several rooms have a city view. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace, and one room for up to four guests shares its bathroom. Rooms with a double bed sleep up to two guests, and the dormitories are for one guest each.

Shared facilities include a lounge with a TV area, luggage storage and daily housekeeping, along with laundry and ironing services. A convenience store is on site, and cash withdrawal is available.

Tours can be arranged, and business facilities are offered for guests who need to work. Internet access is available in the public areas as well as in the rooms, and the hostel has 24-hour security.

English and Thai are the languages spoken at the hostel, and the shared lounge with its TV area is there for guests to relax in.

Mile Map Hostel is in Silom, the business district of central Bangkok, where office towers stand beside small shops, street-food stalls and older temples. The hostel lies in the Bangrak district, and the streets around it fill with food stalls in the evening. The area is lively on weekdays, and the Assumption Cathedral, a Catholic cathedral on Silom, is also in the area. Many travellers use Silom as a base for the older parts of the city, which are reached by river boat.

The Saint Louis and Surasak stations on the Silom line are the nearest Skytrain stops, and the line runs up to Siam, where the large shopping centres are. Sri Mahamariamman Temple, a Hindu temple on Silom Road, is 50 m away, and Jim Thompson House, a house museum about the American silk entrepreneur, is 2.9 km away. Oriental Pier, 1 km away, is a Chao Phraya river pier for boats.

The Grand Palace is in the old city, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha sits inside its walls. Wat Arun stands on the opposite bank of the river, and Chatuchak Weekend Market is further away and is best planned for a weekend visit. A good day could start with a boat from Oriental Pier, continue to the temples of the old city and end with an evening at Asiatique - The Riverfront.
