The area gives a direct sense of everyday Bangkok, with the traffic of the main road close by.

Phrom Phong BTS station is 500 m from the property, so the Skytrain is the simplest way to travel along Sukhumvit Road and connect across the city. Benchasiri Park is a public green space nearby, and the Kamthieng House Museum, a museum of northern Thai culture in a traditional teak house, is 1 km away. Jim Thompson House, 4.8 km away, is a teak residence that holds a collection of Thai silk and Asian art, while Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's best-known markets, is a longer trip across town.

Further afield, the Grand Palace is 8.7 km away in the old city, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha inside its walls, and Wat Arun stands on the far bank of the Chao Phraya river. The Skytrain does not reach the old city, so a taxi is the usual choice, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street near the temples, is in the same area. A weekend could combine Chatuchak Weekend Market with a visit to Jim Thompson House, and the old city makes a separate day.
