Mascotte Hostel Silom

Every room at Mascotte Hostel Silom has air conditioning and a bathtub. Bunk beds fill most of the rooms: two dormitories sleep up to eight guests each on eight bunk beds, and the family room sleeps up to four guests on four bunk beds. Guests in the dormitories and the family room use a shared bathroom with a shower.

For guests who want their own bathroom, the Deluxe Double Room has one double bed for up to two guests, with a bathtub, a shower, a hair dryer, toiletries and towels. Guests in this room have their own bathroom, and the room is set up for two people with air conditioning and a bathtub.

Guests can eat and drink at the coffee shop, cook in the shared kitchen, or have food delivered to the hostel. Massage treatments and tours are offered, and the public areas are air-conditioned.

For everyday needs, the hostel has a laundry service and an ironing service, and luggage storage is available for guests exploring the city. Laundry can be handled at the hostel, so guests on longer trips do not need to look for a laundromat. Currency exchange and cash withdrawal are also offered.

Silom is one of Bangkok's main business districts, a busy mix of office towers, street-food stalls and small lanes running off the main road. Mascotte Hostel Silom is on one of those lanes, at 29/14 Silom 22 Alley, close to the Skytrain and to the small businesses that line the district's streets. Guests will find a practical neighbourhood, with a working district by day and street-food stalls along many of its lanes, and the district is well served by the Skytrain.

Saint Louis BTS Station is 650 m away, and Surasak BTS Station is also close by, so the Skytrain is the simplest link from the hostel to the rest of the city. The Chao Phraya River piers are about 1 km away, and the boats along the river reach the older sights on its banks. The Grand Palace is 4.4 km away, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street, is 4.6 km away.

A good day could start with the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, which sit on opposite banks of the river, and continue with Khaosan Road in the evening, with its street stalls and bars. For a different day, Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's largest markets, is a trip across the city best made at weekends.
