Marina Guesthouse

Marina Guesthouse has rooms from a bunk bed in a 36 m² mixed dormitory to an 18 m² private double room with a super king bed and a city view, plus a room assigned on arrival. Across the property, rooms can have air conditioning, a fan, blackout curtains, a seating area, a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Rooms can also have a private entrance, a balcony or terrace, an alarm clock and interconnecting rooms, and the bathrooms in the dormitory and the double room are shared, with showers and toiletries.

The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day, and the property has a concierge, a doorman, 24-hour security and daily housekeeping. Luggage storage and lockers are available, and there is an elevator for getting between the floors. The staff speak English, Arabic, Hindi, Malay and Thai.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and there is Wi-Fi in the public areas as well as a LAN connection and free wired internet. On-demand movies and a DVD/CD player are also offered for guests who want to relax in their rooms.

On-site parking is available for guests who arrive by car. There is 24-hour room service and a vending machine, and a smoking area for guests who smoke.

Marina Guesthouse is in the Khaosan area of Bangkok, in the old Banglamphu quarter, a neighbourhood of guesthouses, small temples and street-food stalls. The area is busy through the day and into the evening, and many of the old city's sights can be reached on foot. The Bangkok National Museum is also within a short distance, so museums and temples can be combined in a single day.

Khaosan Road, the backpacker street, is 250 m away, and Wat Bowon Niwet, a temple with a pagoda, is close by. The Grand Palace is 1.2 km away, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Phra Kaew, sits inside its complex. Wat Arun, on the west bank of the Chao Phraya river, is 1.9 km away, with the Democracy Monument on Ratchadamnoen Avenue nearby.

For a longer day out, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is 7.1 km away, and the Sam Yot MRT station is nearby for getting around the city. Phra Arthit pier is close to the river, where the Chao Phraya ferries run, and a morning at the temples can end with an evening walk along Khaosan Road. Suvarnabhumi Airport is 28.1 km away, so it is a separate trip from the sightseeing in the old city.
