Mahannop Hostel

Rooms at Mahannop Hostel measure between 9 and 18 m² and sleep one or two guests. The sleeping arrangements are bunk beds, single beds and a queen bed, and most rooms have air conditioning and a shared bathroom, with street views in several of them.

Several rooms have a street view from the window, and some include a microwave, a refrigerator, toiletries and towels. The queen room has a queen bed for up to two guests, the budget twin room has two single beds, and the rooms with bunk beds are set up for one guest each. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Mahannop Hostel has a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, lockers and daily housekeeping. Guests have a shared lounge with a TV area, on-site entertainment and air-conditioned public areas.

Business needs can be met with the Xerox and fax service in the business centre, and internet services are offered. English and Thai are spoken at the property, and the 24-hour front desk means that someone is available at any time of day, including late in the evening and early in the morning.

Mahannop Hostel stands on Thanon Mahannop in the Phra Nakhon district, on the old Rattanakosin side of Bangkok, where the royal palaces and temples sit close together. The streets around the hostel are busy, and the Khaosan area is 600 m away, a short walk for anyone who wants bars, street-food stalls and the backpacker crowd. It is an area to explore on foot, with quieter lanes around the temples.

The Grand Palace is 900 m away, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, inside the palace grounds, is 750 m away. Wat Arun stands across the Chao Phraya river, 1.5 km from the hostel, and its tall tiered prang is one of the best-known sights in the city. Train stations are close by, and both airports are reached by road, so the hostel works well for a first visit without a car.

A day here can start at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace, then cross the river to Wat Arun. In the evening, Khaosan Road is the place to eat street food and watch the crowds, and Jim Thompson House, a teak museum of the Thai silk pioneer, is a longer journey from the old city.
