Luk Hostel

The rooms at Luk Hostel range from dormitory bunk beds for one guest to double, queen and king rooms for two, and every room has air conditioning. The dormitories include a women-only room and mixed rooms, each with bunk beds and a shared bathroom.

A 48 m² mixed dormitory has a city view, and two of the double and queen rooms have a street view. Most rooms share a bathroom, several have a desk and a telephone, and blackout curtains and linens are in most rooms. Towels and toiletries are provided in most rooms, and a reading light is in most of them.

Guests can use a shared lounge with a TV, a games room and on-site entertainment, and there is a terrace and a rooftop area. The bar, a restaurant, a coffee shop and BBQ facilities are on site, and guests can use the shared kitchen.

Daily housekeeping, laundry service, lockers and luggage storage are offered, and there is a concierge. Tours can be arranged, there is a taxi service, and English and Thai are spoken.

Food delivery is also available, and the hostel has a family room. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and in the public areas, and the lounge has a large TV screen. The shared lounge, the games room and the rooftop area make up most of the common spaces.

Samphanthawong is the district that holds Bangkok's Chinatown, one of the oldest parts of the city, with narrow lanes, shophouses, shrines and temples. The area is busy from morning until late, and the shophouses and shrines give the neighbourhood its character. Vanich 1 Road, where the hostel stands, runs close to the busier Yaowarat area, and the streets fill with food stalls in the evening, when the neighbourhood is at its liveliest.

Wat Mangkon MRT Station is 350 m away and links the area to the rest of the city by metro, while Yaowarat Road is 150 m from the property. The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha are both 2.1 km away, and Don Mueang International Airport is 21.9 km away. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer trip across the city.

Wat Traimit, known for its solid gold Buddha, is an easy stop in the same Chinatown streets, and Sawatdi Pier on the Chao Phraya River is close to the hostel, so a river trip is possible. A good day starts with a walk down Yaowarat Road to the food stalls, a visit to the temples, and dinner in Chinatown, and the hostel's bar is a good place to end it.
