Luck-Yimm Hostel

Every room at Luck-Yimm Hostel has a city view and air conditioning, and sleeping is based on bunk beds. The mixed dormitory rooms take one or two guests, and the family room sleeps up to four on three bunk beds. Bunk beds are the main sleeping arrangement across the hostel.

Solo travellers can book a mixed dormitory room, a couple can stay in the dorm room for two, and groups of up to four guests can stay in the family room. Every room also has a hair dryer, slippers, and a coffee and tea maker with free instant coffee, and the family room has a locker for belongings.

Guests share a lounge and TV area, which has a large flat-screen TV and is a place to watch films or shows on the big screen and to meet other guests. A buffet breakfast is offered, and a shared kitchen gives guests a place to cook their own meals.

Lockers and luggage storage are available, so bags can be left at the hostel while you explore, and daily housekeeping is provided. Activity kits are also offered, and 24-hour security covers the property at all hours. The shared lounge, TV area and kitchen are open to every guest, and the hostel also has lockers for smaller items.

Wireless internet access is offered in the rooms and in the public areas, and service is available in English and Thai.

Luck-Yimm Hostel is in the Khaosan area of Bangkok, at the edge of Rattanakosin, the old city where many of the capital's best-known temples and palaces stand. The streets around the hostel are lined with guesthouses, small shops and street-food stalls, and Khaosan Road stays busy into the evening. The nearest sights are easy to explore on foot, and the evenings are lively. Santichaiprakan Park, on the riverbank, is a green space close by.

The big sights of the old city are close: Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is 800 m away, and the Grand Palace is 1 km away. Wat Phra Chetuphon, known for its reclining Buddha, and Wat Arun, with its tall riverside prang, lie a little further on. Wat Suthat and the Giant Swing are close by. Sam Yot MRT Station is 800 m away, and Wang Burapha is 700 m away.

A day could start at Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, continue to Wat Suthat and the Giant Swing, and end on Khaosan Road in the evening. For a different afternoon, Jim Thompson House, Siam Paragon and Asiatique The Riverfront are a longer trip across town, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market is further still.
