LOBSUEK Hostel

The rooms at LOBSUEK Hostel include a 16 m² mixed dormitory room with a single bed, a 14 m² double room and a 12 m² quadruple room with a private bathroom. The double and quadruple rooms have air conditioning and a flat-screen TV, and the public areas are air-conditioned too.

The 16 m² dormitory room sleeps one guest, the double room has one double bed for up to two guests, and the quadruple room has four single beds for up to four guests.

The hostel has a 24-hour front desk and 24-hour security, along with daily housekeeping and an airport transfer. Guests can use lockers and luggage storage, and there is a shuttle service as well.

Guests have a shared lounge and TV area, and there is a snack bar on site and a terrace. The business centre offers Xerox and fax services, and the public areas have air conditioning. English and Thai are spoken at the hostel. The shared lounge is used by all guests, and the snack bar is on site.

LOBSUEK Hostel is on Prachathipatai Road in Ban Phan Thom, part of Phra Nakhon, the historic old city of Bangkok. The streets around it mix temples, historic monuments and guesthouses, with the Chao Phraya river nearby and the busy Khaosan area a short distance away. The neighbourhood lies in the old city rather than in the modern shopping districts of central Bangkok.

Khaosan Road is 600 m from the hostel. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), 1.5 km away, sits inside the Grand Palace complex, which is 1.7 km from the hostel. Wat Arun stands across the river on the Thonburi bank, and Wat Bowon Niwet Ratchaworawihan, a royal temple, is in the same neighbourhood, with the Democracy Monument and Phra Sumen Fort also close by. For the metro, the Sam Yot MRT station is 1.6 km away, and Don Mueang International Airport is the nearest airport.

A day here could start at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, continue across the river to Wat Arun, and end on Khaosan Road in the evening. Khaosan Road itself is the centre of backpacker life in the area, with street food and night stalls. For a different pace, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer trip, and it runs mainly on weekends.
