Like Home

The rooms at Like Home range from bunk beds in six-bed dormitories to a 40 m² family room across two bedrooms. Most rooms are air-conditioned and have a flat-screen TV, and several have a city view. The standard room measures 24 m² and has a king bed and a sofa bed. The connecting family room measures 32 m² and sleeps up to four guests.

The twin room measures 12 m² and has a shared bathroom. The room with a single bed and a queen bed has a private bathroom. Extra beds depend on the room you choose, and a baby cot can be requested directly from the property, subject to availability.

The 24-hour front desk, elevator, luggage storage, laundry service and laundromat cover the practical side of a stay, with daily housekeeping and 24-hour security in place. Restaurants and room service are available on site, and guests can use the shared lounge and TV area to spend time with other travellers.

Tours are offered, and the property has a family room. Guests can communicate in English, Thai, Cantonese and Mandarin. For shopping and cash, a 7-Eleven is 350 m away and an ATM is 300 m away. Restaurants and room service are both on the property, and the lounge is open to all guests as a common space for relaxing with a book or a film.

Like Home is in the Bangrak district of Bangkok, an older part of the city between the Chao Phraya river and the business streets of Silom. The neighbourhood mixes shophouses, markets and places of worship, including churches, mosques and temples, so the streets change quickly from one block to the next. It is a good choice for travellers who want to be part of the city's daily life rather than a resort strip.

Hua Lamphong MRT station is 900 m away, and Charoen Nakhon BTS station is 1.1 km away, so the metro and skytrain are the easiest way to reach the other districts. Si Phraya Pier, 600 m from the hotel, has river ferries along the Chao Phraya, and a short boat ride brings you to Wat Arun, a riverside temple. The Grand Palace, 3.7 km away, sits in the Rattanakosin area next to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street near the palace, has guesthouses, street-food stalls and night stalls.

A good day could start with a river ferry from Si Phraya Pier to Wat Arun, then continue to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, with a walk to Khaosan Road in the evening. Chatuchak Weekend Market is reached by metro and has a large range of stalls on weekends.
