The rooms at liaw base house range from twin rooms with two single beds for two guests to a 24 m² mixed dormitory with four single beds for up to four guests. The Standard Twin Room measures 20 m² and has a balcony or terrace, while several rooms have air conditioning and a shower.

Towels, toiletries and a shower come with several of the rooms, and one room sleeps up to three guests. Some rooms have a street view, and the hostel's rooms are all set up with the same basic comforts of air conditioning and a private or shared shower.

Facilities at liaw base house include a garden and a terrace, and there is air conditioning in the public areas. Guests can use lockers, and luggage storage lets you leave your bags while you explore Bangkok. Meeting and banquet facilities are available.

The Don Mueang area lies in the north of Bangkok, where the international airport sits close to a number of temples, markets and parks. It feels quite different from the tourist streets of central Bangkok, and it is a practical base for guests who fly in or out of Don Mueang. Suvarnabhumi Airport is much further out, on the other side of the city.

Wat Don Muang, a pagoda 950 m from the hostel, is one of the temples close by, and O2 Park, 1.4 km away, offers a large open green space for a walk. Don Muang Railway Station is 1.3 km from the hostel, and Don Mueang SRT Station is 1.8 km away, so rail links are close by. The Open Air Night Market is also nearby.

The Grand Palace and Wat Arun, on the banks of the Chao Phraya river, are better visited on a separate day from central Bangkok. The Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large market known across the city, makes a full day out at the weekend. For a quieter afternoon, the pagoda of Wat Don Muang and O2 Park are both within a short distance of the hostel, and the Open Air Night Market is also in the area for the evening.
