Krabi Freedom Hostel and Bar

The hostel offers shared dormitories with bunk beds, with sleeping places for six to eleven guests. There is a mixed dormitory with a mountain view for up to eleven guests, a women-only dormitory with a city view for up to nine, and a female and a male dormitory for ten guests each, both with a mountain view. The mixed dormitory and the women-only dormitory are non-smoking.

The 40 m² dormitories have air conditioning, a balcony or terrace, blackout curtains, a reading light and a socket near each bed. Each has a shared bathroom with a shower, and towels, linens and toiletries are provided. Tiled or marble flooring covers the floor.

Free WiFi is available in all rooms and in the public areas, and there is free parking. The bar serves drinks and cocktails, with a happy hour, and the shared lounge has a TV area with a large screen and comfortable seating.

Activities include snorkelling, diving, canoeing, horse riding, fishing and hiking, and tours can be arranged. The games room offers billiards and board games, and the on-site salon offers massage, body scrubs and body wraps.

The hostel also offers an airport transfer, car hire, currency exchange, cash withdrawal and lockers. Guests who want to leave their belongings secure can use the lockers during the day, and air conditioning is in the public areas.

Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, backed by limestone cliffs and a strip of bars, restaurants and tour offices. The evenings are busy, with street-food stalls and massage shops lining the streets, and the boats that leave from the piers here reach the islands and limestone bays along this coast. The town is compact, so the beach, the night market and the piers are all within a few kilometres of each other. It suits guests who want to stay close to the water and to the nightlife of the town.

Ao Nang Beach is 850 m away, and Noppharathara Beach lies 1.6 km from the hostel. Railay Beach, 2.4 km away, is reached by boat, and its limestone cliffs and lagoons are among the best-known sights of the area. The Ao Nang Night Market is a regular evening stop for visitors.

Tiger Cave Temple, known as Wat Tham Suea, is 14.4 km away and sits on a hill with views over the surrounding land. Krabi International Airport is 18.1 km away and is the nearest airport to the hostel. Boat trips to Poda and Tup islands leave from the piers in Ao Nang, and they are a good way to spend a day on the water.
