Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, with a long strip of restaurants, bars and tour offices running behind the sand. The hostel stands within this strip, a short walk from Ao Nang Beach (200 m), so guests who want nightlife and the sea close by will find both here. The beach is lined with longtail boats for trips to the islands, and the ferry pier is close by.
Nearby, the Ao Nang Night Market (1.2 km) is the place for street food and souvenir shopping in the evening, and the Ao Nang Beach Pier (250 m) serves the boats. Railay Beach (2.4 km) can only be reached by boat, and its limestone cliffs are one of the best-known sights in the area. Krabi International Airport is 18.8 km away by road from Ao Nang.
A day out could combine Railay with Phra Nang Cave by longtail boat, or head inland to the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), a hilltop temple reached by a long stairway. The islands of Poda and Tup are also boat trips from Ao Nang. Boat trips can be cancelled when the sea is rough, mainly in the rainy months.
