Khaosan Cozy Hostel

Air conditioning is in every room. The accommodation is mostly bunk beds in mixed, female and male dormitories, and the Deluxe Double Room offers a double bed with a private bathroom and shower.

Some dormitory beds have a private bathroom with a shower, while others share a bathroom, and several rooms have lockers, reading lights and blackout curtains.

The hostel has a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, daily housekeeping and lockers, and a convenience store is 50 m away. A shuttle service, a taxi service and an airport transfer are available, and tours and ticket services are offered as well.

For meals and snacks there is a coffee shop, a snack bar, a shared kitchen, fruit and snacks, a vending machine and alternative meal arrangements. Air conditioning covers the public areas, and the shared lounge has a TV area and board games.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and in the public areas, and the hostel also offers a game room, pub crawls and on-site entertainment for guests.

Khaosan Road is one of Bangkok's best-known streets, and the hostel sits on it in Banglamphu, the historic district of the old city. The area is a long-established meeting point for backpackers, lined with guesthouses, bars, shops and street-food vendors.

The most famous sights are close by. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) is 1,000 m away, next to the Grand Palace, which is 1.2 km from the hostel, and both can be reached on foot from Khaosan Road. Wat Phra Chetuphon, better known as Wat Pho and home to a giant reclining Buddha, is also nearby. Wat Arun stands on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya river, and Sam Yot MRT station is 1.4 km away for metro links across the city. Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest weekend markets in Bangkok, is a longer trip across the city.

A good day could start at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, then cross the river by ferry to Wat Arun, before returning to Khaosan Road in the evening. Bars, shops and guesthouses line the same street as the hostel, so the evening needs no planning beyond a walk. The old city is compact enough for a full day of sightseeing on foot and by river ferry.
