Jira19Hostel

All the rooms at Jira19Hostel have air conditioning and a balcony or terrace, along with a private bathroom, a shower, toiletries and towels. Free Wi-Fi covers all the rooms, and the rooms range from a single room to a double room and a deluxe queen room.

Beds range from a single bed for one guest to a double bed or a queen bed for up to two guests. The single room takes one guest, while the double and queen rooms take up to two. Every room has free bottled water, and the rooms with a double or queen bed also have a hair dryer.

The shared lounge and TV area has a large screen showing a range of channels, and the air conditioning covers the public areas as well as the rooms. Luggage storage is available, and English and Thai are spoken at the property. Each room has a private bathroom with a shower, toiletries and towels.

Khaosan sits in the Banglamphu quarter of Bangkok, a lively district of guesthouses, street stalls and small museums. Khao San Road itself is 250 m away, and in the evening the streets around it fill with food stalls and a busy, informal crowd. Several river ferry piers are within a few hundred metres, including Phra Arthit.

The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) is 1.2 km away and the Grand Palace is 1.4 km, the two sights sitting close together in the old royal district. Wat Arun stands across the river, and Wang Burapha train station and Sam Yot MRT station are both 1.7 km from the hostel. Jim Thompson House, a museum of traditional teak houses, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's best-known markets, are further out. Siam Paragon, one of the city's large shopping centres, is also well known.

A day could start on Khao San Road, continue to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, and end with a river boat ride to Wat Arun. Don Mueang International Airport is 20.5 km away, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is the other main airport for international flights. Chatuchak Weekend Market is the longer trip, while Siam Paragon and Jim Thompson House lie further from the old city.
