ISSARA by d HOSTEL

The rooms at ISSARA by d HOSTEL range from bunk beds in mixed dormitories and a female-only room to double, king and quad rooms. Most rooms have air conditioning and a shared bathroom with a shower, and towels and toiletries are provided in many of them.

Dormitory rooms use bunk beds, while the double rooms have a double bed or a king bed and the quad room has two bunk beds. Some rooms have a city view, blackout curtains are fitted in several of them, linens come with several rooms too, and the female-only room is reserved for women. Bed linen and towels come with the stay in the rooms that have them.

The property has an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor one, along with a garden, a terrace, a shared lounge with a TV and a game room. Guests can use lockers and luggage storage, shops and a currency exchange are on site, and the front desk runs around the clock. The garden and the terrace are open areas where guests can sit outdoors, and the shared lounge has a TV.

Dining includes a restaurant, a bar, a coffee shop and room service, with Asian, buffet and continental breakfast. Tours and a taxi service are offered, along with daily housekeeping and laundry service, and a kids meal is offered too. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

ISSARA by d HOSTEL is in the Khaosan area of Bangkok's old city, in the Fuang Nakhon neighbourhood, where temples, palaces and museums sit close together. The streets around the property have street food stalls, small shops and guesthouses, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street, is 1.2 km away. Many of the sights can be reached on foot from here, and the area is lively in the evening, with food stalls and small bars along the side streets.

The Grand Palace is 750 m from the property, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, home of the large reclining Buddha, is 600 m away. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) is also nearby, and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, stands across the river. For transport, Sam Yot MRT Station is 600 m away and Wang Burapha train station is 500 m, so getting around by metro or train is possible.

A full day can start with the temples in the morning, since the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha share one complex, then a crossing to Wat Arun by boat. In the evening the walk back to the property is short, and the streets around Khaosan Road are busy with food stalls and bars.
