Hostel Urby

Most of the rooms at Hostel Urby are dormitories, with bunk beds in mixed and female-only versions, and there are also private double rooms for up to three guests. Rooms can have air conditioning, a shower, linens and slippers, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Some rooms measure 18 m² or 20 m², and a standard double room of 20 m² is set up for up to three guests. Outside the rooms, the shared lounge and TV area, the bar with its happy hour, the terrace and the rooftop area give guests places to meet.

Hostel Urby is on Songward Road in the Sumphantawong district, part of Bangkok's Chinatown, where shophouses, Chinese temples and street food stalls line the lanes near the Chao Phraya river. It is a lively part of the city for guests who like to explore on foot, with the old quarter and the riverside a walk away. Narrow lanes of old shophouses lead off the main roads, and the riverside piers link the district with the rest of the city.

Wat Mangkon MRT station is 550 m away and Khlong San BTS station is 850 m away, so both the metro and the skytrain are close. Yaowarat Road, the main street of Chinatown, is 350 m away, and Wat Arun, the temple with a tall prang on the riverbank, is 2.1 km away. The streets around the hostel are full of temples, pagodas and small markets, so the area suits a day of wandering rather than a day at the beach.

A good day could begin at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, then move on to Wat Pho, the reclining Buddha temple, before a walk down to Yaowarat for food in the evening. Asiatique, the riverside night market and dining complex, is a good evening option for a stroll along the water.
