Honey Place Guesthouse

Walk a few lanes away from it and the atmosphere softens around Wat Bowon Niwet Ratchaworawihan, a royal temple just 100 m from the guesthouse.

The main sights of old Bangkok are close by. Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is 1.2 km away and sits inside the grounds of The Grand Palace, 1.4 km away, with its gilded halls and chedis. Across the Chao Phraya, Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is 2.1 km away on the Thonburi bank. A longer trip north takes you to Chatuchak Weekend Market, the large weekend market for clothes, food and crafts.

A good day can combine the Rattanakosin temples and palaces in the morning with the Bangkok National Museum in the afternoon, then a walk back to Khao San Road in the evening. The Phra Arthit pier and the Sam Yot MRT station are both nearby if you want to continue by river or by train. The Democracy Monument and the museums of Rattanakosin Island are also close. After a day among the temples, the garden at the guesthouse offers a quieter place to sit.
