The old city is further away: the Grand Palace is 6.7 km from the hostel, with Wat Arun across the Chao Phraya river and the temple of the reclining Buddha, Wat Phra Chetuphon, nearby. Khaosan Road, the backpacker street in the same area, is known for its bars and street food. Reaching the old city takes a taxi or a combination of skytrain and river boat.

A good day could start at Jim Thompson House, continue along Sukhumvit Road to Siam Paragon, and finish in the old city with the Grand Palace or a boat trip to Wat Arun. Suvarnabhumi Airport is 22 km away, and taxis can take you there from the hostel. Walking the streets of Nana in the evening, with their bars and restaurants, is a simple way to end the day.
