Green Home Resort is on Kanjanavithi Road in Surat Thani, a provincial town in southern Thailand on the Tapee River. The hotel is 1.0 km from the city centre, in a neighbourhood of local shops, small temples and everyday markets, so the stay gives you a view of ordinary town life.

Within a few kilometres of the hotel, Wat Phathanaram is a pagoda 2 km away, and the Night Market, 2.3 km away, is a place to shop and eat in the evening. The Tapee River Viewpoint, 2.6 km away, looks out over the water, and the Monkey Training College, 5.3 km away, is where macaques are trained to pick coconuts.

A good way to spend a day is to start at the pagoda, follow the river to the viewpoint and finish at the night market. The city pillar shrine and Ko Lamphu Park lie farther into the town and make a good stop for a walk in the green, with the Morning Market and the St. Raphael cathedral also in the same part of town. For the islands, a ferry terminal for Koh Tao is within a few kilometres, and the hotel is a practical base for trips to the Gulf islands.
