Surat Thani Airport is 12.2 km away and the railway station is 5.5 km from the resort, while Central Plaza Surat Thani is 6.7 km away. The Pirates Park and Koh Lamphu Public Park are both parks in town, and Wat Phothawat, a temple, is 7.4 km away.

A day could start with a walk around the Pirates Park, continue with a visit to Wat Phothawat, and end at the Surat Thani Night Market, 6.9 km away, which is open in the evening. A ferry terminal for night boats to Koh Tao is also in the area, so the town is a useful link for onward travel by sea.
