Saint Louis BTS station is 650 m away, and the Skytrain is the quickest way to reach the rest of the city from here. Two Hindu temples, Sri Mahamariamman and Maha Uma Devi, are nearby, and Assumption Cathedral, a Catholic church, lies 850 m away. Surasak station is on the same line, and Chatuchak Weekend Market is further out, a longer journey from here.

A day could begin at the Grand Palace, which houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, 4.3 km away, and then continue along the river to Asiatique The Riverfront, a riverside night market and entertainment complex that is well suited to an evening visit. Suvarnabhumi Airport is 24.9 km away, so the trip back into the centre from the airport is a longer one, and Silom is lively after dark for a meal and a walk back to the hostel.
