Wat Sawettachat, a temple 200 m away, is the nearest sight, and the Wat Sawetachat pier, 550 m away, serves river boats along the Chao Phraya. Asiatique The Riverfront, a riverside shopping and dining complex, is 1.2 km away, and Wat Arun, a riverside temple known for its tall, spired tower, is 3.5 km away. Khao San Road, the backpacker street, lies further into the old city.

A good day starts with a walk to Wat Sawettachat and its pier, then continues by river boat or taxi to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace, one of Bangkok's best-known sights. Back on the Chao Phraya riverside, Asiatique is an easy stop in the evening, and the Krung Thon Buri BTS station, 650 m away, links the area to the Skytrain network. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is further away and is best saved for a separate day.
